OSHO Gourishankar Meditation®
Music by Deuter
This hour-long track is specifically designed to support the OSHO Gourishankar meditation. The music supports the energy and activity described in each stage of the meditation, and also signals the timing of each stage. A silent stage is part of most OSHO Active Meditations, and when the meditation ends with silence it will be concluded with a bell or gong.
This technique, for the nighttime, consists of four stages of fifteen minutes each. The first two stages are preparation for the spontaneous Latihan of the third stage. If the breathing is done correctly in the first stage, the carbon dioxide formed in the bloodstream will make you feel as high as Gourishankar (Mount Everest).
The most comprehensive guide available to all the OSHO Active Meditations, plus a variety of other techniques offered at the OSHO Meditation Resort in India, and at OSHO meditation events around the world. “The first upgrade to meditation since Buddha’s time.” Published in the USA by St. Martin’s Press the book has been re-issued in a more compact and portable format. In addition to dozens of meditation techniques, the book is an invaluable resource for meditators with OSHO responses to questions people have encountered along the way.

First Stage – 30 Minutes – Sit with closed eyes. Inhale deeply through the nose, filling the lungs. Hold the breath for as long as possible, then exhale gently through the mouth and keep the lungs empty for as long as possible. Continue this breathing cycle throughout the first stage.
Second Stage – 15 minutes – Return to normal breathing and with a gentle gaze look at a candle flame or a flashing blue light. Keep your body still.
Third Stage – 15 minutes – With closed eyes, stand up and let your body be loose and receptive. The subtle energies will be felt to move the body outside your normal control. Allow this latihan to happen. Don’t you do the moving: let moving happen, gently and gracefully.
Forth Stage – 15 minutes – Lie down with closed eyes, silent and still. The first three stages should be accompanied by a steady rhythmic beat, preferably combined with a soothing background music. The beat should be seven times the normal heartbeat and, if possible, the flashing light should be a synchronized strobe.
