Album Description

On Bamboo Forest some of the pieces are Shakuhachi solo, while in others, Deuter has expanded the spirit and the soul of this bamboo flute to include a wider musical experience. It is really an art to create sound with the Shakuhachi, and because of that, because it’s so free there is a very wide spectrum in the sound. You can change it, you can alter it, you can stretch it, you can push something, you can be very forceful or you can be incredibly soft and sweet.

“You have to be totally immersed in the moment to play it. There is hardly any instrument that creates such a silent mind, a quiet mind, a space of meditation.” ~C. G. Deuter

“(Bamboo Forest), like all Deuter’s music, opens the eye of no-mind, its sounds alchemically affecting the mind and nervous system in inducing pure empty space. Whereas most music, including the most beautiful, fills the mind, body and emotions with content – even if that content is intensely uplifting and inspirational.
Those with an existing collection of Deuter’s music – he has composed and produced close to 60 albums – will hear differences in this release in which he uses less keyboards and synthesisers, several tracks being pure unaccompanied Shakuhachi flute solos. Instruments woven into other tracks include elegant koto bells, gongs and threads of Deuter’s ever-subtle keyboards.” – Osho News

This album is a re-release of Flowers of Silence.
