Product Description

Sleep is one of the most desirable commodities. All the research shows that a good sleep is essential for our health and well-being, not to mention our youthful looks! And a natural sleep is infinitely more beneficial and refreshing than a drug-induced one. But with our hectic and stressful life-styles getting a good sleep is not as easy as it used to be. This guided visualization is especially designed to give you just that – a deep, natural and refreshing sleep, whether at home in your own bed or on the road.

All things that have flowered return to their root. This returning to the root has a name: Quiet.” ~Lao-Tzu

Available in both English and Italian versions on this album (separate tracks).

Meditation Instructions:

Before you start listening to Sleep Deep, you may like to try the following techniques, especially if your head is feeling hyped up with thoughts and plans and worries.

First, get ready for bed.

Then take seven deep breaths into your belly, holding the air for as long as possible before exhaling, but without forcing yourself. When you exhale, make sure as much of the air is squeezed out as possible, again without forcing yourself.

Then try gibberish, either pacing around your room, or sitting on your bed. Gibberish means letting all kinds of sounds come out of your mouth, speaking in a conversational way, but without using any language that you know. Just making nonsense sounds. You can add arm gestures, and be as crazy as you like. If you don’t want to disturb any neighbors, you can also do it in a whisper.

Do this for five to twenty minutes, as you feel. If you find it difficult in the beginning, start saying ‘Blaaa blaaa blaaa.’ and continue with whatever else you find coming out of your mouth. Enjoy being crazy – it is said that if you can go crazy consciously, you will never become unconsciously crazy.

In the beginning you may feel a little foolish, but if you allow yourself to get into it, you will find it a great way to unwind the mind. Then lie down, making sure you will not be disturbed, and let the CD guide you into a deep refreshing sleep.

Additional Information

Total Time:

  1. ” A former personal assistant and student of the revolutionary meditation teacher Osho, Anando grew up in Australia and worked as an actress, dancer, and lawyer before a visit to India and a meeting with Osho awakened her soul and sense of higher purpose. Since then she’s traveled the world doing workshops, speaking on the health benefits of meditation, though you don’t need to know how to meditate to use her CD Sleep Deep. All you need to be is tired, and ready to relax and take suggestions. Over the soft drone music of fellow Osho student Veet Marco, Anando fills Sleep Deep with drowsy commands to “sink lower into your comfortable bed” and let go. Ever so patiently, ever so slowly, Anando guides us to relax from our toes through to our jaw, “allowing your mouth to drop open a little so your jaw can relax even more,” and upward. “As you’re lying here right now, make sure your body’s really in the most comfortable position…and close your eyes, having a feeling of leaving behind all the business of the day…and just being with yourself.” The distant, melting chimes of Marco’s music become the colors of your hazy thoughts as worries about the day become balls of mist gone in the inner sunlight of hazy sleep, “more and more with each breath. Relaxing into however you are, right now.” The album consists of only one short track so you don’t have to worry about it continuing to play on after you’ve gone asleep and suddenly waking you up with a burst of unfamiliar music. “Feel your eyes becoming very still and silent,” Onando purrs. “You can imagine that just underneath your right eye, there’s a very comfortable bed.” You may not ever get to hear that far into the disc as you’ll be sound asleep, but your unconscious will still be inspired, enacting her suggestions of “feeling safe” and “letting go.” And as in Osho meditation, the silence that follows is all part of the meditation?as is everything that comes after if you’re open to experiencing your life in a new, fresh way.”

  2. “Hey kids, it’s 2010 and it’s alright to admit we’re all walking wounding, a nation and generation of damaged mooks. This lawyer drop out that’s taken a spin around India for the last 30 odd years distills her wisdom and outlook into these three cds that are each targeted toward trying to repair the damage of the walking wounded. “Healing the Heart” is obvious, especially for all the smarter than thou hot 20 somethings that sit around Saturday night with a quart of ice cream wondering why their married guy won’t call. “Healing the Inner Child” is also obvious since everything we needed to know we learned in kindergarten—make fun of who ever is different; push the little kids down and take their toys—time to clean that mess up and move on. “Sleep Deep” is also obvious since we now see that sleep can cure everything for diabetes to paranoia. Hey, it’s cheaper than one session with a shrink if you buy all three at full price and less calories than cookie dough. You wanna keep being a screw up or you want to try something inexpensive and non-invasive that just might help you find the path to take the right first step. Maybe you need some chicken soup for the mind.”

  3. “Many times, when people have trouble sleeping, the answer lies with an inability to calm the mind and let go of the day. Maybe you’re analyzing a situation that occurred at work, or consumed with worry over something that honestly cannot be changed at 1 am in the morning. Sleep Deep, from meditation expert Anando, was conceived with the goal of providing a tool for getting the mind in ‘sleep mode.’ Anando begins by having listeners focus on relaxing their feet muscles, and moves up the body targeting the extremities and major muscle groups. Along the way, she guides the listener in proper breathing and speaks in softer and softer tones as the meditation moves forward. By the time you reach the program’s conclusion, you will find that our mind is clear and your body is wonderfully relaxed. Now you can move to bed and gently drift off into sleep.”
